After about a week of canyoning I went off on my own for a couple days and decided to do some diving in the Gulf of Ajaccio. My expectations were pretty low but it ended up being not half bad. There was some interesting critters down there and a cool wreck we got to explore. One unfortunate memory from this outing is when our divemaster grabbed a sea cucumber and squeezed it until its defense mechanism of white threaded goo squirted out. It fucking enraged me. I wanted to fight him right then and there in the ocean at full neutral buoyancy. But the blissful depths evened me out after a time and once we got to the surface I just let it go. Very mature of me, but I should have told the owner. There are ignorant assholes no matter where you go.
