Raja Ampat is famous for having some of the best diving on the planet. Absolutely spectacular diving: giant manta rays the size of mini vans, all kinds of sharks and schools of fish, a plethora of hard and soft coral, and lots of cool macro critters like nudibranchs, mantis shrimp, and seahorses. After spending a couple days in Singapore as a stopover, I flew to Sorong, the main hub for RA diving, located on the western tip of Papua New Guinea. I spent about a week on a liveaboard roaming around the archipelago diving every day and soaking in all the amazing sights. This was such a special trip filled with stunning diving. Unfortunately, this was about the time I began to have equalizing issues, an essential component of diving, and so I have not done any diving since :(. I definitely plan to get back to it at some point, but ending (for now) in Raja Ampat is a great place to leave it.
