Another canyoning Mecca

Welp, we found another canyoning Mecca in northern Italy. After Ticino, Marlen drove back to Germany and my buddy Cody and I headed to Northern Italy, Domodossola and Lake Como areas, for some more canyoning fun. Italy’s North has its own collection of amazing canyons, and Italy in general is a lovely country to visit: cheap-ish, great food, rich history, and so much to do do and see. But I have a scary memory from this trip when my foot got caught in a very strong siphon during our descent of Mondelli 2. I was swimming toward the next rappel when I got sucked underneath the water very quickly, but thankfully managed to push off a rock with my other foot and propel myself past the hazard. It was over as quickly as it began, it turned out fine, but it was a somber reminder how things can turn sideways out of nowhere real quick. Cody and I ended up bailing out of that canyon a couple drops later because that water was a tad high at the time.
