I was still in my festival phase at this time and what bigger festival in the world is there than Rio’s Carnival. This was a quick trip for about a week and I only stayed in Rio, but wow, what an incredible whirlwind experience. The floats and parade down the Sambadrome is absolute spectacle. This puts other parades and floats to shame. I don’t think anything compares. The costumes, the creativity, and the detail of the floats is incredible. Then you walk out on the street where every corner has it’s own party of music and dancing. The cherry on top was that I made friends with the guide of my city tour that I went on and she showed me around the city for a couple of incredible nights that I’ll never forget.
