Sa Fosca

This trip came about because of one canyon: Gorg Blau i Sa Fosca, one of the premiere canyons in all of Europe. The canyon is a long, sustained, deep gorge with numerous rappels and swimmers, few escapes, and sections where the light barely touches. While the canyon was not flowing and only had standing water, it was all still very spectacular, including the exit hike down Torrent de Pareis to the beach. The island also has a few other special canyons, including one that requires a swimming exit in the sea. The trip was extra special for some other reasons: I was joined by my good friends Marlen and Cody as well as David and Ben (from Spain and France, respectively), whom I worked with in Queenstown, NZ guiding canyons; and at one of the canyons early on we met up with a local named Tony who joined us for a couple other canyons, which is always a fun treat. I took a lot of video for this trip and so I put together a long video of our time there. From time to time I like to crack open a beer or sip some wine and watch the video again and just reminisce about our wonderful time there.
