Katie and I made a spontaneous last-minute trip up to Yosemite Valley to run Middle Earth Canyon, the inner gorge just before Lower Yosemite Falls. We camped outside the park, woke up early, and made our way down to the start. The approach offered some incredible views, and we had a pretty mellow romp through the canyon, as water levels were quite low. I had never done this canyon before, so it was exciting to finally experience it in all its grandeur, particularly with the backdrop of Upper Yosemite Falls. We made it to the bottom with enough time to enjoy an early dinner and take in all the natural beauty the valley has to offer.
