I was snowboarding a fair bit at this time and decided to fly up to Vancouver and do a couple days of boarding at the famous Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, the largest in North America and home of the 2010 Winter Olympics. The place was massive. You would need a week to explore all the different runs. Cities during winter have a quieter, more somber feeling, and I had a pleasant time walking around Vancouver, my first time there. Checked out some of the famous sites, went to the zoo, and on New Years morning randomly came across their polar plunge at English Bay Beach, which I enthusiastically participated in. Yes, it was cold af.
