Tar Creeking

A fun day out in the Sespe Wilderness sliding, jumping, and rappelling down Tar Creek. Closed down now in order to protect the endangered California Condor – a reminder that even though most outdoor lovers make efforts to practice low impact leave no trace principals, our presence in these places can still have negative consequences for the species who call those places home. I remember there being one 70ish or so foot cliff jump into a pool that someone was about to attempt, but we got the heck out of there so as not to witness anything unfortunate. A short time later we heard a loud smack/splash. I guess it went well.
