After my return from Dominica I hooked up with some friends for a few different canyoneering trips in Arizona, Utah, and the Sierras over the course of the summer. I first knocked out a few canyons on the East side of the Grand Canyon. I soloed these so I kept it pretty easy. Then I met up with my buddies Scott, Ryan, Jason, Logan, and Eli in Zion National Park for a few canyons. After a few days of this, Logan and I met up with another group out near Escalante to tackle a beast of a canyon called Poe, known for some challenging pothole escapes, and then ran a couple other canyons in the area. After this epic adventure I then met up with my friend Marlen, Danielle, Chase, Jeff, and Bryan, and we were back in Zion to complete another beast of a canyon called Heaps, known for a free hanging rappel of almost 300 ft. Then a little later on I had a couple wet and wild trips through Jump Canyon and Seven Teacups in the southern Sierras. All in all it was so fun to catch up with and hang out with some peeps I hadn’t seen in a while and descend some epic canyons in some beautiful settings.
