The Enchantments is an alpine hiking area up in Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington. There’s a popular 20-ish mile point to point traverse that takes you over Aasgard Pass to a stunning alpine setting of lakes, snow capped peaks, and mountain goats. This was my first real taste of the natural beauty Washington has to offer. I came up just for a few days, rented a car, eventually made my way to the exit trailhead and then hitched a ride early morning up to the start and then hiked the traverse in a day. Overnighting is possible but it is a competitive permit to get. Spent the remaining couple days hopping around to some of the small towns in the area.
