I was still in my festival phase at this time and what bigger festival in the world is there than Rio’s Carnival. This was a quick trip for about a week and I only stayed in Rio. But wow, what an incredible experience. The floats and parade down the Sambadrome is absolute spectacle. The costumes and detail of the floats is incredible. Then you walk out on the street where every corner has it’s own party and music and dancing. What a whirlwind! The cherry on top was that I made friends with the guide of the Christ the Redeemer tour I went on and she showed me around the city for a couple nights that I’ll never forget.
