I was getting the itch to climb Mount Shasta in northern califonira. The stratovolcan lies in the Cscade Range, covered in about 7 glaciers, and stands a little over 14,100 ft. I flew up to Sacramento, rented a car and drove up to the Clear Creek traihead to camp for the night. The clear creek route is beginner friendly, no technical challeneg, and not as crowded as Avalanche gulch. There was only one other party summiting the same tie as me. I was able to enjy some beautful solturde, epsically on my summit push.
