Laos

Laos (rhymes with ‘cow’) is another less-often visited, but totally worthwhile South-East Asian country that has a lot to offer tourists: rich Buddhist culture, friendly people, sacred temples, French architecture, dense jungles, turquoise waterfalls, blue lagoons, the Mekong River and its 4000 islands, fascinating archeological sights, and it’s dirt cheap. I came over from Vietnam and spent a couple weeks on public transpo and riding a motorbike around to different sights. It had a real laid-back vibe and I had a lovely time in this beautiful country.
