This particular Christmas and New Year was quite enjoyable. I drove up to my mom’s place a few days before Xmas and met up with a couple high school buddies, Nick and Dave, who I had not see in a while. We did some snowboarding, had some really expensive beers at the top of a run, and just caught up and reminisced, which is always nice. For Xmas day it was myself, sister, brother and his girlfriend, mom, and then dad came by for festivities as well. It was nice to have the whole family together, which does not always happen. The day before we did an escape room together, which ended up being quite chaotic, where my brother and I just furiously did most of the work. Probably not the best strategy as we eventually ran out of time. It was good fun though. Then we drove to a popular neighborhood around Sacramento that was known for having a lot of nicely decorated homes with Christmas lights. Then a few days later I met my buddy Conrad for some canyons in Death Valley. Then booked it back to LA to spend New Years with Catalina and a local staircase walk. Hello 2018.
