I love Nepal. The birthplace of Buddha! I had an amazing time there. The Himalayas make it one of the trekking capitals of the world. The dramatic peaks are second to none. So many areas to explore and mountains to climb. The ancient Buddhist and Hindu religions and the Sherpa communities offer a rich cultural experience; their unique stacked triangle flag that represents those religions and the Himalayas; the ubiquitous dal bhat; wildlife safaris; palaces, stupas, and temples.; and the immensely friendly people. The photos below are a mix from Kathmandu and surrounding areas, as well as a couple days we spent with some Spanish friends volunteering at an orphanage. Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, and some canyoning can be found in other posts here.
