Everyone who visits Tokyo remarks on how clean it is. And it’s true, it’s so clean! Japanese culture is truly unique and probably a little overly romanticized. I just spent a few days in Tokyo after China and meandered around to a lot of the tourist spots, temples, restaurants, vending machines, and wrapped up the year 2010.

A funny anecdote from my time wandering around the market – I was looking at food stalls to get some fresh sushi, and Japan is known for having plastic imitation food in display windows, and as I stopped at a stall I noticed a particular fake dish in a display that looked good and pointed it out to a waitstaff, thinking I would be seated for the meal. Instead, they proceeded to pick it out of the display and ring me up for the sale. It’s now one of my favorite souvenirs.
